Oblong dish / wallhanging from the Negro / Tribal series (also called Harlekin series) by Michael Andersen & Søn, Bornholm, Denmark.
Made ca 1950s. The design is most likely by Marianne Starck.
The used sgrafitto technique gives a great contrast between the glazed and unglazed parts.
There are holes on verso for hanging it on the wall.
On verso the Michael Andersen & Søn backstamp - a shield with three fishes, which also is the coat of arms for the town Rønne on the island Bornholm where the pottery was situated. Model no. 5661-1
Very good used condition
No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Tiny spot with glue on back.
A few minor irregularities in glaze and clay from production.
