PRICE UPON REQUEST

This very large circular bowl was designed by Gunnar Nylund for Nymølle and produced in Denmark, circa 1960s. It has a vivid dark blue glaze over a radiating pattern.

It would look great as a very large fruit bowl.

 

Handsigned and handmarked on bottom: Nymölle Denmark, Nymölle logo, GN (for Gunnar Nylund) and model number 9542.

The bowl is a factory first edition and in very good vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-97) was a famous Finnish-Swedish artist working with ceramic and glass.
He worked at Bing & Grøndahl in a short period from 1926-28 just before he established Saxbo together with Nathalie Krebs 1928-31. In 1931 he came to Rörstrand in Sweden and became shortly after their artistic leader. He stayed there until 1955 and also made several freelance works. From 1955 he was artistic leader at Strömbergshyttans Glasbruk.
